The Department of Immigration and Border Protection has recently advised that they are currently dealing with a very high volume of partner visa applications- currently a total 88,000 onshore applications in the pipeline. With their current resource constraints, high application rates and  the drift towards onshore lodgements from offshore applications, they are now estimating that the processing time will be between 16 to 23 months for onshore applications.

 Subclass 820 Temporary Partner applications which were lodged before January 2017 and are decision-ready as determined by DIBP, are being examined for potential decision by 30 June 2017.
